How can allies support Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast?
Event Overview
Donetsk Oblast has been partially occupied by Russian forces since 2014, and heavy fighting continues today. As Russia continues to pursue its “scorched earth strategy,” Donetsk Oblast is facing severe devastation, and many Ukrainians are trying to flee what was once a key part of Ukraine’s economic, political, and social landscape. How can Donetsk Oblast be rebuilt, and what can be done to support those Ukrainians who remain? Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, sits down with CEPA Democracy Fellow, Elina Beketova, to discuss the current situation and the region’s future.
